The Shuangxi Yuanxiao Lantern Festival in Pingnan started from folk beliefs and clan sacrificial activities. During the Northern Song Dynasty, there were folk parade activities in Shuangxi. The earliest activities such as welcoming the gods at the incense pavilion, offering blessings to the fire dragon, and beheading the snake by Jinggu have gradually developed into various forms of folk activities in Yuanxiao.
